Why join a group?
Group therapy can be a powerful therapeutic experience. Learning from and being supported by other group members allows for a sense of community that is often missing from our busy lives.
Current Group Offerings
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Group
Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence based therapy that focuses on skill building and taking empowering action in real life. In this DBT group, members will learn in class-teaching style how to: Participate more fully in life; Cope successfully with symptoms of anxiety or depression; Get unstuck from unhelpful emotional or behavioral patterns; Let go of judgments of self and others. Members will also gain skills to help soothe during emotional crises, decrease behaviors that are creating difficulties in life, learn to effectively handle emotional pain, and use assertive communication.
This group is facilitated by Hannah Evans, LMHC.
This 12 week group will be held on Tuesdays from 6:30-8pm starting 03/14/23.
Eating Disorder Support Group: Recovery Revelations
Give and receive support in this eating disorder recovery focused process group.
Our young adult group (18-29) meets on Mondays from 7-8pm via Zoom and is facilitated by Sarah Chipps, PsyD & Elizabeth Grant, LMSW.
Our 30+ adult group is forming now and will meet on Wednesdays from 12-1pm via Zoom and will be facilitated by Alicia Perez, LMHC beginning 4/5/23.
Shame Slayers: FREE Open Eating Disorder Process Group
This is a drop in support group for those struggling with eating disorders.
PTSD Support Group
This open style process group gives space for folks to explore, in a contained and guided environment, the impacts of trauma with others who share similar lived experiences. Adult participants (18+) must already possess the skills necessary to stay grounded and oriented while experiencing emotional activation due to discussing trauma related content. Participants are required to be working with an outpatient therapist while participating in the group.
This group is facilitated by Rachele O’Hare, LCSW and Elizabeth Grant, LMSW.
This 12 week group will be held on Thursdays from 7-8pm starting 02/23/23.
ACT with Love
Single and ready to mingle but struggling to find more than Netflix and chill? Looking to break away from old patterns? This group is for you! Adult participants (18+) will learn to apply Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) strategies of psychological flexibility, embracing personal values, and thought observation to your dating journey.
This group is facilitated by Alex Zipkis, MHC-LP and Luis Illades, LMSW.
This 8 week group will be held on Mondays from 7:30pm-8:30pm starting 02/27/2023.
Em.Body.Ment
Learn to integrate your body and mind to live a full, embodied life. This group will use yoga and group therapy to explore themes related to overwhelming emotions, avoidance of emotions, or extreme emotions to ultimately embody self-trust.
This group is facilitated by Alex Zipkis, MHC-LP and Estee Gilkman.
This 10 week group will be held in-person on Sundays from 10:30am-12pm starting 04/09/2023 at our office in Williamsburg.
